Ginataang Isda at Hipon Na May Luyang Dilaw

Turmeric or Luyang Dilaw in Tagalog is widely used as a spice in South Asian and Middle Eastern cooking. Many Filipinos use turmeric in savory dishes like GINATAAN – a dish with coconut milk sauce. WIN_20150801_220206

One of our family favorite dishes is Ginataang Isda at Hipon Na May Luyang Dilaw. This is a delicious traditional  dish.

First, I fried the fish. Then, in a pot, put the fish, onion, garlic,tomato and ginger. Add a little lime juice and water. Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. Add coconut milk and luyang dilaw together with the green chili, celery, lemon grass. Simmer for 10 minutes. Then add the Shrimps and bay leaves. Season with salt and pepper. Continue cooking until done.

Serve with Basmati Rice. Enjoy Eating! Yummy…….
